The Honda C50 NT is what we call a new type (NT) C50. The C50 NT was never released on the Dutch market, but thanks to our own imports from Japan, many of them are already on the roads in Europe. The C50 NT is the successor to the C50C. It is usually found with a single-seat combined with a luggage rack above the rear wheel.

A key feature of the C50 NT is its 12-volt electronics and CDI ignition, along with the "GK4" engine block. It was produced in many colors. Want to know more details? Check out the bottom of this page.

The (Japanese) Honda C50 NT

What do we mean by a Honda C50 NT? NT stands for New Type. Compared to the old type, several aspects of the Honda C50's design were changed:

  • C50 OT (Old Type): Tank bolted onto the frame, contact point ignition, 6-volt electrical system

  • C50 K1, K2, K3: Tank recessed into the frame, contact point ignition, 6-volt electrical system (mechanically very similar to OT)

  • C50 TT (Transition Type): Tank recessed into the frame, CDI ignition, 6 or 12-volt electrical system, GB2 engine with sleeve-bearing camshaft

  • C50 NT (New Type): Tank recessed into the frame, CDI ignition, 12-volt electrical system, GK4 engine with ball-bearing camshaft

The Honda C50 NT, as referenced here, was introduced in the 1980s and produced until 2008.
